Porridge fingers

As I may have mentioned (!) one of the highlights for me of baby-led weaning, is being able to all share in and enjoy the same meals. This doesn’t mean you have to suddenly begin cooking three three-course meals a day, adapted for your baby, just do whatever works for you. There really is no pressure, as I mentioned in the last post, because babies new to food will still get all their nutrition from their milk feeds, it’s really just their skills they’re practicing whilst getting used to handling new tastes and textures, so there’s no rush in terms of how many meals they eat per day, or indeed no worry over how much of these meals get eaten (hallelujah!).

The recipe below is sugar free, and no less tasty for it, so perfect for children. We serve ours with greek yoghurt and berries (and bacon and too much maple syrup for the grown ups!)

They were repeated for friends who came for brunch at the weekend when banana and maple syrup were also included amongst the toppings on offer, Continue reading →
